Contract opportunity:

The Executive Office of Environmental Affairs (EOEA), through the Massachusetts Division of Marine Fisheries (Marine Fisheries), is soliciting proposals from qualified contractors to provide marine technician services to operate and maintain oceanographic equipment.

The primary responsibility of this position is to deploy and maintain a Focus-2 remotely operated towed underwater vehicle, conducting field work with the instrument for day trips and multiple day offshore trips on research and fishing vessels.

Other responsibilities include conducting field work with acoustic instrumentation, and computer data processing including the analysis of a variety of datasets relevant to habitat mapping (using software tools including, but not limited to, CARIS HIPS and SIPS, ESRI ArcGIS, and Echoview).

This contract should allow for full-time work until November 30, 2007, but part-time availability will be considered.
